Profile : Maria Boey

Maria is a Town Planner and Urban Designer who has planned Tampines Town which won the World Habitat Award in 1991 for Housing and Development Board, Singapore. She planned Pasir Ris Town which is another attractive town by the coast. She is present Hon. Sec. and Activities Chair for the Singapore Institute of Planners.

As an Architect, she has designed hundred of flats in Tampines and Kampong Bahru, two neighbourhoods centres in Tampines, Ang Mo Kio Mosque and many other flats in other towns.

As a Landscape Architect, she has planned, designed and implemented many landscape designs and parks in Toa Payoh, Bishan Woodlands, Sembawang and Punggol Towns which won many local and overseas Landscape Awards. Examples are the Sungei Api-Api Landscape which won local and overseas Awards. She participate in the Landscape design and implementation of Punggol Waterway. She is the First Vice-President of the Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects (2013-14) and still a Council member now.

She is an International Speaker on Art, Culture, Community, Landscape, Recreation, Tourism. Architecture and Planning.

She is President of the Institute of Parks and Recreation, Singapore, presently.

She is a Rotarian and Soroptimist who donates generously to Lions Homes for the Elders, Lions Befrienders, Singapore Planned Parenthood Association and Henderson Senior Citizens Home and other charities. She is a Distinguish Toastmaster who helps people in communication.

Individually or in work, she has won many local and international Awards.

She is employed presently as Vice President (Architectural), Surbana International Consultants Pte. Ltd.
