Ann Phua, Chairman
Ann has been in business for over 30 years after working in the field of international fashion where she managed the setting up of factories in India, Taiwan and Singapore as well as distribution outlets in the US, UK, and Germany. Ann’s first business was in the fashion trade; manufacturing, retailing and exporting to Europe, USA and Japan for brands like Penhouse, Chanel, Saks, Di-Bari, and Schissers.
Her academic background in Management Studies, and as a certified IDP facilitator, led her to develop and write several training manuals on sales and management as well as to introduce outdoor experiential training to corporations and schools. Her training and development business expanded to Indo-China focusing on education services for non-native English speaking students.
Ann’s passion for nature and her community involvement sparked the creation of Nature Conservation and Environmental education for schools, engaging students on environmental issues and climate change long before they became mainstream topics.
Ann publishes several travel, business and environmental magazines: Travelmart, Executive Inc, Hemispheres, and Hemispheres Kid.
Ann’s expertise on business and environmental issues sees regular requests, both locally and internationally, to speak at conferences and seminars. She is a board member of Singapore Council of Women Organisation, past-President of Business and Professional Women’s Association-3rd. Chapter and 3rd. Vice President of the Federation of Singapore Business and Professional Association
LIM YEN LAN 1st. Deputy Chairperson
Yen Lan began her legal career with the Housing and Development Board in Singapore. She has been in private practice for over 28 years specializing in conveyancing and family matters. She has several publications to her credit including co-editor for the 1st edition of the Singapore book “YOU and the LAW” and, writing the section on property. She has also co-authored the booklet “Legal Status of Singapore Women”. She was also involved in the publication of the book “Men Women and Violence.”
Additionally, Yen Lan is an experienced lecturer on contract law having lectured at the Singapore Institute of Materials Management. Yen Lan is a past-President of the Singapore Association of Women Lawyers, Vice President and Honorary General Secretary of the Singapore Council Of Women’s Organisations and President of the Business and Professional Women’s Association (Singapore) 3rd Chapter.
Currently she serves as Vice Chairman of the Management Committee of the Thomson Community Club and sits on the Board of Management of the Grassroots Club (a club set up for Grassroots leaders) where she is the Chairman of the Education Sub-Committee. A Distinguished Toastmaster, she is a charter member of the Thomson Toastmasters Club where she has held various positions and has been an active toastmaster for over 18 years
Caroline Dawson, 2nd Deputy Chairperson
Caroline Josephine Dawson is Director of CD Training Works—a consultancy firm that offers training solutions to organisations. She has more than 10 years of invaluable experience in teaching business, environmental and technical communication and 12 years in the field of journalism and publishing.
Caroline’s professional work experience as a Corporate Trainer has required her to market the value of her programs and persuade clients to value and understand the urgency of good communication skills in the work force. She has also conceptualized, produced and delivered courses such as written and oral presentation skills, communication relationship management, business communication, customer service, teambuilding and administered psychometric profiles, among others. Her experience in working with public and private sector training has become one of her training strengths. Participants of her training workshops attest to her motivational, instructional and highly experiential training methodology.
Caroline is also Advisor to the SMGM Foundation, India and Member of the Business and Professional Women’s Association (S) 3rd Chapter and Society of Singapore Writers.

Friederike Loh, Hon Secretary
Friederike Loh is a social entrepreneur who is passionate about spreading happiness and helping people seek their unique “ah-ha” moments that lead them towards self-actualisation. With her social enterprise, Living Experience @ Positive Inc (LE@+VE Inc for short), she intends to focus on what makes people engaged and happy through the positive influence of diverse living experiences that touch and inspire them towards positive transformation. Through this approach, she and her team hopes to alleviate depression, which is a growing issue in youths and working adults in developed societies such as Singapore.
Most recently, she was a military psychologist with the Ministry of Defence’s Applied Behavioural Sciences Department and was responsible for the provision of psychological and organisational solutions for the leaders in the Singapore Armed Forces. Her experience in multiple Singapore Armed Forces overseas training with the British, Canadian, Middle Eastern, South African, Thai, Bruneian, Malaysian, Australian and New Zealand Armed Forces have given her valuable opportunities to lead and effectively communicate in a multi-national and multi-cultural environment.

Sally Sng, Assistant Treasurer
Sally Sng is a professional real estate agent serving the housing needs of the local and expatriate community for residential sales and rentals.
A missionary at heart, Sally loves traveling to areas of less trodden paths to see the world. Her first love is food and Sally goes all out to locate an eatery with a good review when not working or attending her church ministries and meetings.
Linda Ruck, Board Member
Linda is Director of Linda Ruck Communications (LRC), a Singapore based media relations and communications company. Originally from Australian she now lives in, and runs her business from, Singapore. With over nine years of cross cultural experience, Linda has worked with a diverse client base from all over the Asia Pacific region including Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand & Vietnam.
Linda has an extensive network of business and media contacts. Her company, Linda Ruck Communications (LRC), is a boutique PR Company that coordinates event launches, media tours and press relations. She also offers consultations on corporate communication strategies, and project management services for promotional events and seminars. Linda prides herself on offering her clients a sophisticated personalized attention that is uniquely creative.
